Foxiedox X YLWC

Foxiedox Jumpsuit | Vintage Fur

01.28.2014 // Last weekend I had the pleasure of doing a fun little shoot with my friend Brianna at this gorgeous old ranch in Los Alamitos. We wanted to feature this stunning Foxiedox jumpsuit in all if its glory. With my short hair I definitely feel more inclined to wear things like this, with more edgy and sporty details. It was a fun little afternoon of exploring...we made friends with a horse...and I survived walking through grass in stilettos.

Jan 10th-116th

Finally having lunch at Gabby's in the Orange Circle and absolutely loving it. Seriously the best margaritas in town.

Messing around with some silly long exposure app at Disneyland. The results were crazy and magical.

New little lights up in my room that bring me so much joy.

Lastly, how I've spent my Friday night. Diving headfirst into a new passion is terrifying and amazing and I can't wait to see where this goes.

Have a great weekend!

01.015.2015 //
Fun fact, I was homeschooled.
So being called a nerd is nothing new to me, but would make me cringe in shame when I was 15. Today being a "nerd" about something really just proclaims that you are passionate about it...Theater nerds, Fashion nerds, Music nerds, Photography nerds, the list goes on. So in this new year, some of my closest gal pals and I have taken on the challenge of embracing our inner nerdiness, heck celebrating it even, and owning what we truly love even if it isn't always the "coolest." A few weeks ago we headed up to the Paley Center for Media to take in a collection of typewriters once owned by famous people. Walking around a quiet, stark room full of old machinery isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it was endlessly fascinating. Followed by coffee and conversation and some book store perusing, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Special appearances made by Amanda and Lauren << Two kind, genius, wonderful ladies that blog and I'm lucky to call friends. Together we hope to start the #HotLadyNerd movement.

10.12.2015 // Visited my favorite little escape last weekend, anyone in Southern California knows that visiting Old Town Orange is like entering a time capsule. You can literally get lost in the antique stores for hours and the rain made it even more dreamy. If you have time, go to Gabby's, it's a mexican food place with no sign right next to the Army/Navy store, I'm pretty sure those tacos changed my life.

Also, I'm pretty sure this Brandy Melville T shirt dress would be the perfect length on anyone under 5'5, but on me it was dangerously close to "Where are her pants???" territory. It is probably the comfiest thing I own though. Dressing for winter here is the most perplexing thing ever.

01.09.2015 // I decided to start a new little series entitled Details as a little weekly recap of moments that stood out over the last seven days. My phone and camera memory are constantly full to the brim with all sorts of different snaps, usually things that inspire me, notes I want to remember, or particularly cute dogs I've seen. I wanted a home for all these little pieces to serve as both an insight into what catches my eye and a reminder for myself to stop and smell the roses and capture these moments.
Jan 1st-9th

Ringing in the New Year with the love of my life. Not a bad way to start 2015.

Last weekend's escape up to DTLA for brunch at the super trendy Ace Hotel. It was everything I wanted to be and more (Get the Sage, Egg, Gruyere sandwich!!!).

Ok so I'm definitely ahead of the game in buying swimwear but summer basically starts in March in California so it's ok right? In love with this new Vitamin A top.

This alleyway, also from the aforementioned day in LA. I can't remember the street I just turned a random corner to find this delightful view...I think that's makes me love it even more.

Have an amazing weekend everyone!!!

Warm / Cold

California winters are so endlessly hard to dress for...45 degrees in the morning and 80 by noon. How am I supposed to plan of that? Post holidays I've been loving anything loose and cozy and that feels like pajamas but looks semi pulled together. This Free People dresses is one of my favorite new additions to my closet...extra bonus that no one can tell you are still recovering from too many Christmas cookies.

NYE / Dote Feature

12.29.2014 // 2014 drawing to a close has gotten me all reflective. I swear the year went by in a blink, but when I think about all the changes and events that took place it's a little overwhelming. I fell in love with places I'd never even been before (New Orleans and Seattle). I let go of dreams I realized I was no longer interested in chasing. I discovered that being honest with yourself and trusting in the process is the key to finding joy in every single day. Sometimes closing a door that you were already one foot out of needs to happen in order for you to realize that the opportunities of everyday are 100% limitless. I felt love stronger than I ever have in my ENTIRE life. I took risks when I hadn't completely weighed every single possible outcome and in return experienced the magic that results from following your heart. I revisited an old passion and in turn made peace with some of the darkest times in my past. I started my first full time "big kid" job and am still learning how to deal with the joys and challenges that arise. I turned 22. I also learned that it doesn't take the starting over of the calendar to create a new you, you can be whatever and whoever you want the moment you decide to be it.

Now I will spare you a sappy photo montage of my life over the past year (If you follow me on instagram you're pretty up to date anyway), and instead offer up some other exciting news! This past week I was featured by Dote Shopping, a fun new app that lets you scroll through all your favorite online stores and shop in one handy dandy place. I put together a list of my picks for an awesome New Years Eve outfit, which is one of my absolute favorite nights of the year to dress for. Click here to see their blog and download Dote from the app store to see all my NYE list!

Here's a little taste of the vibes I'm feeling for this New Years...

leather, sparkle, lace, cut outs, fur, bad ass, hats, cropped, messy hair, the usual.
