Free People Tank | COH "Rocket" Jeans | The Giving Keys necklace | Urban Outfitters Booties | Jewelry...details coming soon.

03.04.2015 // Right before leaving for New York I went through my closet and did a heavy duty clean out which I affectionally refer to as the "Great Purge of 2015." As a result I've been left almost exclusively with my most trustworthy basics, and I honestly couldn't be happier. I'm on a major simplicity kick and having a closet filled with pieces that, for the most part, ALL coordinate makes my heart sing and my morning routine a million times faster.

In the process, I unearthed this open backed gem from my pile of black basics (don't worry, I kept every single one of those). Paired with my favorite style of jeans ever, I could wear something like this every day of my life and be a happy camper.

NYC: Places

02.26.2015 // One of my favorite things about New York is the fact that you can never run out of new places to visit, ever. By the time you think you've done or seen it all its changed or improved into something else. Anytime day or night (and even when its 9 degrees outside) there is something fun to do.

Someday I intend on sitting down and making a little reference guide of all my favorite spots to visit, not that I'm an expect by any means, but for now I'll just highlight my favorite places (mostly food) from my most recent trip.

1) Sarabeths - There are a handful of locations in the city, my favorite being Central Park south where you can sit and look out at the park while eating their amazing Pumpkin waffles and jam.

2) The Smith - 3 locations in the city (Midtown, East Village, Lincoln Center), we went to the Midtown location on Valentines day...awesome decor, amazing food, and a really bizarre co ed bathroom with a Photo Booth in it.

3) Laduree - If you can't make it all the way to Paris buy your macaroons here! Feels like a little slice of heaven...more photos of this one to come.

4) Belvedere Castle - I've been meaning to find this little spot in the park for years and finally succeeded. It's a tiny little castle in Central Park, now some sort of a bird watching exhibit, but you can climb tiny staircases all the way to the top and get a wonderful view of the park.

5) Broken English Jewelry - Attached to the All Saints Flagship store (also a worthwhile stop) is one of my favorite jewelry stores. The mix is rather eclectic but if you are looking for a tiny sparkly momento for your trip, this is the place to find it.

6) Chelsea Market -  We made it out here on my very last day and I'm so incredibly glad we fit it in. Not only was it a haven from the freezing temperatures, there was so much to explore! Seriously, I felt like the place was never going to end, with new shops, art galleries, and food at every turn. Go here and give yourself plenty of time to wander and take it all in.

View from our hotel (The Dumont Midtown, much recommended)

One of my other favorite spots in all of Central Park, yes this is where Chuck and Blair got married on Gossip Girl.

One of my favorite photos from the entire trip, our view at sunset.

NYC: People

02/19/2015 // Last week I visited one of my favorite places in the entire world. New York continues to hold an ever growing place in my heart, each time I go I feel less and less inclined to return home.

My boyfriend and I headed out there purely with the intent to spend 6 days wandering and exploring to our hearts content. The snow didn't slow us down too much, the 10 degree weather put up a fight but we quickly learned how to layer up in defense from the cold. My favorite thing was having no agenda, no set plans, being able to wake up, pick a direction and just go. To me that is the true definition of vacation.

All Saints JacketAnthropologie blouse | Giving Key necklace | Brandy Melville jeans | Skin stilettos

02.03.2015 // Do you ever just buy something that feels so 100% identifiably you? That's how I feel about this silly little polka dot blouse but it honestly speaks to my soul. I love the shape, feel, colors and the fact that the dots are completely uniform. I've been unashamedly wearing it the last 3 out of 4 days since I bought it and I'll probably bust it out at least one more time this week.

Impressively enough I've cleaned out about 1/3 of my closet over the last few days. My style has gravitated in such a new direction, I attribute it to the new year and my shorter hair. Now I gravitate toward clean lines and versatile pieces...things that always have a dash of class and polish, nothing too loud or over powering. I just want to be able to grab any mix of items from my closet and always have them coordinate in some way. Back there in late summer I was feeling like a dirty hippie getting lost in all my draped boho pieces, it's nice to experiment in the other extreme.

Foxiedox X YLWC

Foxiedox Jumpsuit | Vintage Fur

Photo: Brianna Lynn
Makeup: Emilee Mae Klump

01.28.2014 // Last weekend I had the pleasure of doing a fun little shoot with my friend Brianna at this gorgeous old ranch in Los Alamitos. We wanted to feature this stunning Foxiedox jumpsuit in all if its glory. With my short hair I definitely feel more inclined to wear things like this, with more edgy and sporty details. It was a fun little afternoon of exploring...we made friends with a horse...and I survived walking through grass in stilettos.

Jan 10th-116th

Finally having lunch at Gabby's in the Orange Circle and absolutely loving it. Seriously the best margaritas in town.

Messing around with some silly long exposure app at Disneyland. The results were crazy and magical.

New little lights up in my room that bring me so much joy.

Lastly, how I've spent my Friday night. Diving headfirst into a new passion is terrifying and amazing and I can't wait to see where this goes.

Have a great weekend!
